Shinkansen Bullet Trains

If you're planning on travelling any long distance within Japan then a high-speed shinkansen is definitely the way to go. Shinkansen are generally called "bullet trains" by people outside of Japan due to the futuristic bullet-shaped front of the early shinkansen trains in the 1960's.
